LOS ANGELES--(BUSINESS WIRE)--Australians Guy Pearce, Air Supply and Luc Longley will be honored at the 9th annual G’Day USA Los Angeles Black Tie Gala on January 14, 2012, the signature event of the 3-week G’Day USA Australia Week program. Australian Consul General Mr. Chris de Cure, OAM made the announcement.
“Our three exceptional honorees have each contributed notably to the promotion of Australia in the United States in their respective fields of acting, music and sport. We are delighted to acknowledge them during Australia Week as we showcase Australian capabilities in the USA.” Emmy-winning actor Guy Pearce (Mildred Pierce), multi-platinum musicians Air Supply (All Out Of Love) and NBA basketball player Luc Longley (Chicago Bulls) are the 2012 recipients, joining past honorees who include Nicole Kidman, Hugh Jackman, Russell Crowe, Naomi Watts, Simon Baker, Cate Blanchett, Barry Gibb, Keith Urban, Greg Norman, Rod Laver and Olivia Newton-John.
Guy Pearce is an acclaimed international actor, recently appearing in The King’s Speech and The Hurt Locker. Soft rock duo Air Supply have sold more than 20 million albums worldwide, including eight U.S. Top Ten hits. Luc Longley was the first Australian to play in the NBA, winning 3 Championships with the Chicago Bulls.

The G’Day USA Los Angles Black Tie Gala is the most anticipated annual Australian-focused event in the United States. Top Australian entertainers perform and in 2012, the Australian-inspired and sourced cuisine is being prepared by Australian celebrity chef Guy Grossi, in collaboration with Wolfgang Puck.
